Pack 64 Parent Social

Posted by jzacharias on Nov 29 2022 - 9:28am

Please see the attached flyer. We  are looking to get all the parents together to get to know each other better and have some fun. This will take place at the American Legion at 15052 Archer Ave, in Lockport. There will be a cash bar, and we are also planning to have food and/or snacks. But we need a final headcount in order to plan for that.

Wreaths Across America

Posted by jzacharias on Nov 22 2022 - 1:27pm

On Saturday, December 17th, we will take part in the ceremony and lay wreaths at Lincoln cemetery in Elwood for the 2022 "Wreaths Across America" event. In order to have a wreath for each grave, the WAA organization asks for individuals and companies to sponsor the wreaths at $15 each. Our pack has a page where we are promoting the sponsorships: https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/170272

Scoutbook Questions

Posted by jzacharias on Nov 16 2022 - 8:17pm

I only had a couple people join the Scoutbook tutorial on Zoom. If you were not able to make it, but you are struggling with Scoutbook, please email (jim.zacharias@comcast.net) or text me at 630-768-7728 and I can setup some time to help you understand how to use it.

Rainbow Council Arctic Blast

Posted by jzacharias on Nov 8 2022 - 11:27am

The Rainbow Council Arctic Blast is scheduled for Saturday, January 14th 2023. This event takes place at the council camp, Rainbow Scout Reservation, at 2600 Winterbottom Rd. in Morris. It has always been a lot of fun for the cub scouts. Please note that this is a council run event and the pack does not run this. I encourage all families in the pack to attend this great event.

Pinewood Derby

Posted by jzacharias on Nov 8 2022 - 11:20am
Our Pinewood Derby will take place on January 21st, 2023 at Cross of Glory church starting at 11am.

This year we will also hold races for siblings and adults in addition to the regular races for the scouts. All scouts in the pack will be given a Pinewood Derby kit at our pack night on December 19th. The pack already has those kits, and there is no charge for those. If any siblings and adults want to build a car to race, they will need to be purchased for $7 each. If you would like to purchase car kits, please fill out this form and turn in payment no later than our pack night on November 28th. We will need to have enough time to get the extra kits for these races. The kits for adults and siblings will also be handed out at the December pack night. If you miss the deadline, I can't guarantee we will have the kits for you by the December pack night.

Brookfield Zoo Tree Trimming

Posted by jzacharias on Oct 25 2022 - 10:36am

We will be decorating our tree at Brookfield Zoo on Saturday, November 12th at 11am. The ornament kits were handed out at the October pack night, so you can make your ornament at home. The instructions on how to make the ornament are attached to this message. Please bring the completed ornament with you to the Zoo. If you were not at the October pack night, please email me, jim.zacharias@comcast.net, or text me at 630-768-7728, and you can pick up a kit at my house. If you are not attending on the day of the tree trim, please either bring your ornament to your next den meeting, or drop them off with either me, Jim Zacharias, or Katie Kargol, if you don't have a meeting before November 12th.
